Founder and CEO of Prevention Specialists, Ltd. Obtains Master of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology

October 20, 2006 – Vernon Hills, IL – Dr. Mitchell Weisberg, M.D., M.P. today announced that he has achieved his CME (Continuing Medical Education) Certification Program as a Master Psychopharmacologist from the University of California, San Diego, having completed the necessary 110 hours of continuing education coursework. The study of psychopharmacology merges knowledge of various disciplines including: psychology; cognition, emotion and behavior; pharmacology; and the characterization of different drugs. This certification expands a physician’s sophisticated understanding of medications as well as patients’ mental and physical well-being.

“By expanding my knowledge base in psychology and pharmacology, I will be able to treat my patients with a deeper awareness of the interaction between medical and psychiatric conditions and, in turn, counsel them on a treatment plan that addresses their total health needs,” said Dr. Weisberg, founder and CEO of Prevention Specialists, Ltd.
